On Sunday, Atlantic Coast Conference commissioner John Swofford pointed out some interesting facts in his speech during ACC Media Days. Basketball has the most influence in the ACC, but the conference looks to be moving forward in football and stabilizing the programs as long time members.
Swofford said,

"The composition of the long term membership of the ACC has never been stronger. Geographically we are moving forward as a true Atlantic Coast Conference with membership spanning the entire Eastern Seaboard and even into the Midwest with the addition of Notre Dame and ultimately Louisville. Within in our footprint, the ACC will now have the most television households and the highest population of any conference footprint from a national standpoint. It is also projected that by 2030 that 55 percent of the United States population will lie within the ACC footprint."
