The only change in the top five is Oregon swapping spots with Stanford. Oregon has since been favored by the media to win the Pac-12 and the Ducks are ranked No. 3 in the Coaches Poll. Texas A&M is a wild card for the top five with all the media circus surrounding Johnny Manziel, but the Aggies should fall somewhere close to the top five if not in it.
The only other adjustments in the projected top 10 are the inclusion of Clemson and Notre Dame dropping outside of it. The previous projections had Clemson just outside the top 10 and Notre Dame ranked No. 9. Clemson and star quarterback Tajh Boyd received lots of praise at the ACC Kick Off while Notre Dame has slipped in media attention during the barrage of conference media days throughout July.
The last few projected teams are somewhat interchangeable, but the official top 10 of the AP Top 25 will be some mixture of the teams listed below.
Projected Preseason AP Top 10
2. Ohio State
5. Texas A&M
7. South Carolina
Next up: Notre Dame
