Strong has a 25-14 record at Louisville in three seasons and began the 2013 season with a 42 point blowout win against Ohio. Under his tenure, the Cardinals have two bowl wins and a pair of Big East Championships (2011, 2012). He has also been named Big East Coach of the Year twice (2010, 2012). Louisville capped off last season with an upset victory in the Sugar Bowl over then No. 3 ranked Florida. Strong, a longtime assistant coach at Florida, was officially announced as the head coach of the Cardinals on December 9, 2010.
While at Louisville, Strong's teams have achieved over a 2.5 GPA every semester that he has been head coach. This is while also producing All-Big East performers in 2012 including five first team selections and three second teamers, highlighted by star quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. It is nice to see a football program build in areas other than just wins like in values and the classroom.
